Important Announcement for the Obama/Biden Campaign from the DNC:
If you haven't already heard, there is official confirmation that Sen. Barack Obama will have 5 offices and 22 paid staff members in West Virginia. The Charleston office will be open by this Monday. Tom Vogel, Executive Director of the WV Democratic Party, will be state coordinator for Campaign for Change, the official vehicle for the Obama/Biden campaign in WV. Tom will have a paid staff of 22, offices in Charleston, the eastern Panhandle, Morgantown and 2 additional satellite offices. The Charleston office will be at the corner of Lee and Capitol streets and should be open by Monday. For those who have not heard the news, WV has been upgraded to a Battleground State and will be receiving much attention from the national campaign. The delegates to the convention were told this morning that Barack will be in the state campaigning, but we do not yet have specifics. Expect a tough fight but we can win, if everyone will help! If you're in the Charleston area, plans are in place to operate out of Attorney General McGraw's campaign office on the boulevard for Regatta (6-9 Th and Fri; 9-9 Sat and Sun). Come help! |

The West Virginia State Democratic Convention was held on June 13th and 14th. In counties all throughout the state, our grassroots groups organized and delivered a strong election of delegates supporting Senator Obama who attended the convention in Charleston. Camp Obama Training Sue Thorn from Wheeling is offering to conduct Camp Obama Training Sessions for grassroots groups throughout the State. These would be one day sessions teaching community organizing skills that can empower us to build our local groups and work successfully to bring about change in our communities.
